Momentum can be stopped by an equal or greater momentum in the opposite direction. 

Unfortunately for the Lake Forest girls basketball team, it was not the greater momentum on Monday night, Feb. 25, in the Palatine Super-sectional.

That title belonged to Maine West, which won its 33rd consecutive game with a 53-34, wire-to-wire win that sent them back to the state finals and stopped the surging Scouts in their tracks.
