More than a year after a landslide washed out the North Beach access road in Lake Forest, it is set to reopen again thanks to the collaborative efforts of the city and private citizens.

This Saturday, Sept. 14, at 10 a.m., city officials will cut the ribbon marking the reopening of the roadway, as well as the dedication of Hughes Gateway at Forest Park Beach.

After a landslide in June 2018 closed the road, Lake Forest Mayor George Pandaleon said the city and community came together to rebuild and improve the roadway.
